Youth Centre steps up its drive to be a key attraction ...
The Youth Centre is stepping up its drive to become a key attraction for young people and, in particular, those aged between 13 and 17.
The Senior Club members have:-
This is in addition to its range of existing attractions, which include:-
Young people are also being offered the opportunity to take part in a range of volunteer schemes, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
Members can get out and about and visit popular attractions. For example, some of the Senior Club members have just had a great weekend away staying overnight at Alton Towers.
The Senior Club is open during term between 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm Mondays and Thursdays. Entry costs £1.
All the Clubs at the Centre are run by qualified and experienced workers, with control of entry, and parents and carers are welcome to visit, have a look round, and meet the Youth Workers.
The aim of the Centre, as a whole, is to offer young people a safe environment – one where they can enjoy a wide range of activities or simply meet up and chill out with their friends. It is also a place where young people are encouraged to have their say. And, this is being stepped up as, from next term, Senior Club members will be able to meet with the Management Committee, to discuss the Centre and its way forward. | |
