COVID-19 - Hall Hiring Update

The Council is pleased to announce that its community facilities are all now back in use, subject to COVID-19 adjustments, and enquiries are welcomed in connection with the hiring of the Council’s facilities at The Woodlands Centre, Samuel Wickens Centre and the Youth Centre.

We may not be able to facilitate all requests but will be happy to discuss your requirement with you.  A full COVID Secure Risk Assessment has been undertaken, and regularly reviewed, which incorporates all of the latest Government Guidance in relation to the use of multi-purpose facilities and we will be happy to discuss any questions that you may have when considering hiring any of the Council’s excellent community facilities.


The Woodlands Centre as we know it now, opened 12 October 1938 and provides an excellent venue for Birthday or Anniversary Parties and Wedding Receptions.

All facilities in The Woodlands Centre are at ground floor level. Disabled persons are well catered for with specially-designed toilet facilities, Induction Loop Systems, and disabled parking bays in the large, FREE car park.

The Halls and Meeting Rooms are also available for hire to Clubs, Associations and individuals for a vast range of activities.  The Village Memorial Hall has a stage, a large modern fitted kitchen, a small bar and separate toilet facilities. The smaller hall (the John de Bohun Room) also has a kitchen and toilet facilities.
