To commemorate this very special occasion in Rustington, the Parish Council, agreed in late 2021, that commemorative medals should, for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, be given to all of the children attending the Primary Schools in the Village.
The medals, which have ‘Presented by Rustington Parish Council’ printed on the casing, were recently delivered to each of the three Village Primary Schools.
The Chairman or the Vice-Chairman of the Parish Council, have attended Assemblies at each of the Schools, when the medals were either presented or the children were advised that they would soon be the proud owners of a Platinum Jubilee Medal.
The Chairman and Vice-Chairman, Councillor Mrs Alison Cooper and Councillor Graham Tyler, said that it was one of the most pleasant tasks they had undertaken during their terms of office, particularly as the children at each of the Schools were so excited to learn that they would be receiving their own ‘piece of Royal treasure’.
