Do we allow Bouncy Castles/Inflatables?

Please note we no longer accept bouncy castles/inflatables in any of the facilities or on the Recreation Ground, but we do allow soft play.

How can I make a booking?

Bookings can be made via the Hallmaster website, by email, over the phone or at the Parish Council. To make a booking through Hallmaster, please click on the Hall Hire Page to access our diary.

Is there Wifi?

Yes all of the Centres have Wifi, the username and password can be found on the Noticeboard in the Corridor Area and in the Hall/Room. 

Cleaning after the hiring

The Hirer is responsible for leaving the premises and surrounding area in a clean and tidy condition, locked and secured unless directed otherwise and any contents temporarily removed from the usual positions properly replaced, otherwise be subject to additional charge.

After your hiring, please ensure that you leave the Hall and Kitchen as you found it, including sweeping/mopping spillages on the floor, putting all your rubbish in the bins provided in the courtyard area and cleaning any tables that you have used.

Booking Times

Please note that all of the venues are run by the session, morning (9.30 am - 12.30 pm), afternoon (2.00 pm - 5.00 pm) and evening (5.30 pm - 11.00 pm). The session times include any time you would require for the set up and clear up of the room so this would also need to be factored into your timings when planning. If you wanted to hire two or more sessions, you will also have the time between the set times.

Deposit

Please note the deposit is separate from the hiring fee and can take up to 28 days to be return (subject to damage).

Can I provisionally book a room

You can provisionally book a room, but this must be confirmed with the completion of the Hiring Agreement and deposit payable within two weeks of the original booking being made, otherwise it will automatically be cancelled.

Keys for the Hiring

Please remember to pick up the keys from the Council Offices. Office Hours are 10.00 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday*. Office Telephone Number is (01903) 786 420.

*Weekend Hirers - Keys to be collected by midday on the Friday preceding the hiring.

After the hiring, please return the keys to the Council Offices after your hiring through the Council letter box, located on the left hand side of the Office.

Decorating the Room

The Council asks if the Hirer can use Masking tape only not blue tack or drawing pins to stick things on the walls of the Halls.

Please note, nothing can be stuck on the walls at the Community Hall at the Samuel Wickens Centre.

Are Tables and Chairs provided?

Tables and chairs are provided free of charge for the hirers. All our table sizes are 6 x 2 foot, except at the Community Hall were they are 4 x 2 foot. They are located in the following places for each Hall:-

Village Memorial Hall - 40 Tables are located in Table Store in the Hall and around 60 Chairs are situated around the Hall with another 140 chairs are located outside the fire exit, under the chair store.

John de Bohun Room - 10 Tables are located in the Rear Foyer entrance area, including up to 80 chairs as well.

Roger Montgomeri Room - The Tables and Chairs are already laid out in this room and cannot be removed. 

Roger Barwick Room - The Tables and Chairs are already laid out in this room and cannot be removed. 

Kilhams Hall - 10 Tables are located in Table Store in the Hall, including up to 80 chairs as well.

Norfolk Lounge - No tables are available for this room, but there are comfy chairs and sofas located around the room and cannot be removed.

Community Hall - 10 Tables are located in Table Store in the Hall, including up to 80 chairs as well.

What do I do with my rubbish?

Please use the bin sacks provided and put your waste in bins outside the court yard area. Please note we have started to recycle, so please split your rubbish, and put glass separately in the glass bin.

Parking

There is a large free car park, including four disabled parking bays, serves both The Woodlands Centre and Rustington Youth Centre.

The Samuel Wickens Centre is located in the Broadmark Lane Car Park, which provides 3 hours free parking. For hirers wishing to stay longer than three hours and up to 12 hours, there is a single flat rate fee of £10.00. This is payable by phone and clear instructions are provided in both Car Parks.

Viewings

Please contact the Parish Council if you wish to view the facilities, via email, telephone or book the appoint via Hallmaster. Please click the Hall Hire Page to access our diary.

Alcohol Licence

Because of licensing laws the Hall Management MUST be informed if you intend to operate a bar where you will be selling alcohol as there is an annual limit to the number of permitted licences. You are contractually obliged to observe this requirement as a condition of hire. To obtain a licence you must apply for a TEN (Temporary Event Notice) https://www.gov.uk/temporary-events-notice/arun
