Allotment Competition 2020 Cancelled

cancelled-signjpg

The Council have reluctantly made the decision to cancel this year's Allotment Competition due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.

A decision regarding the Garden's Competition is yet to be made.

There will be no further judging and plot inspections have been suspended in the interim.

Due to the very wet Winter many plot holders have been delayed in getting the 2020 crops underway and judging had already been suspended during this time.

The Council would strongly advocate the Government's Rules regarding exercise and going outdoors only when essential. Plot holders are asked that they do not visit their plots unless absolutely essential and for a very limited time (no more than 1 hour).

The Council asks that:

  • ANY PLOT-HOLDER WHO IS SELF ISOLATING BECAUSE A HOUSEHOLD MEMBER IS ILL WITH CORONA-VIRUS MUST NOT VISIT THE SITE
  • KEEP YOUR DISTANCE FROM OTHERS (2 METRES)
  • DO NOT GATHER TO CHAT EVEN IF 2 METRES APART
  • TREAT ANY PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE SURFACES AS POTENTIAL SOURCES OF INFECTION
  • VISIT ON YOUR OWN TO TAKE DAILY EXERCISE
  • PLEASE NEVER WASH YOUR HANDS IN THE WATER TROUGHS
  • DO NOT SHARE TOOLS. NO HANDSHAKES
  • KEEP HAND SANITISER IN YOUR SHED AND USE OFTEN
  • DO NOT PICK ANYONE UP ON THE WAY TO THE ALLOTMENT AND TRAVEL WITH THEM - THIS IS NOT ALLOWED
MAKE YOUR VISIT AS BRIEF AS POSSIBLE
  • STAY AT HOME. PROTECT THE NHS. SAVE LIVES
