A259 Major Improvement Scheme: Main phase of works starting

road-worksjpg

The first, main phase of works on the A259 major improvement scheme starts on Sunday 4th October.

Preparation work, including vegetation clearance has been carried out to date to facilitate the scheme which will widen a total of about 2km of single carriageway to dual carriageway in Angmering and Littlehampton.

Roadworks will start on 4th October. Temporary traffic management will be needed for the safety of both road users and the workforce.

Road users are advised to take an alternative route, if possible, or allow extra time for their journeys as there will be some delays.

There will be some night-time works with road closures and diversions. Every effort will be made to limit disruption and we apologise for any inconvenience.

The traffic management proposals are to keep one lane of traffic open in each direction for the vast majority of the works, although there will be occasions where night closures or 2 way traffic lights will be necessary as indicated below.
