Rustington will once again be honouring those who lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism on Sunday, 8 November 2026, as part of the National Remembrance Commemorations.

The event, which is organised by the Parish Council, will see Veterans, Civic Dignitaries and members of local Uniformed Groups parade along The Street, from the pedestrian entrance of the Parish Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, to the War Memorial for the 11.00 am Service and Wreath Laying Ceremony.

The Service will be led by the Reverend Natalie Loveless and the Reverend Rosemarie Clarke, with The Exhortation and Recital of The Kohima Epitaph being delivered by Jon Street, former Royal Army Physical Training Corps and Andrei Netherwood, former Parachute Regiment and Royal Military Police respectively. The TS Implacable NTC Band will be in attendance to sound the Last Post, the Reveille and to provide accompanying music.

Prior to the Service at the War Memorial, the Parade will muster near the junction of The Street and Sea Lane at 10.45 am. Road closures will be in place from 10.30 am until approximately 12 Noon and will include The Street, Claigmar Road, Church Road, the southern end of Woodlands Avenue and the two Service Roads in front of the shops in the Village Centre.

This is always a very popular Event which is extremely well attended. It is hoped that this year will be no exception.

Please note that: Photography and filming will be taking place during the Parade and Service, and footage captured during the Event may feature in the Council’s publicity material and external press releases. If you do not wish to be photographed, or do not want your image used in Council publicity, please inform a member of the Council’s personnel.

Members of Rustington Parish Council, will also be present at the War Memorial to commemorate the official Armistice Day on Wednesday 11 November 2026 from 10.55 am.
